Album description
Inspired by The Complete Piano Duets by Ella Fitzgerald, Songs for Two is an acoustic jazz project that blends classic and contemporary styles, celebrating the artistry of Ida Landsberg and pianist Domenico Sanna.
The album features 16 jazz standards, including two songs Ella Fitzgerald famously performed in a duo: “Maybe” and “Looking for a Boy” by Ira and George Gershwin. Additionally, it includes two timeless Cole Porter classics. It showcases a mix of ballads, medium tempos and up-tempo pieces, each reinterpreting jazz traditions with originality and occasional irony. Tracks range from the intensity of “You Don’t Know What Love Is,” with its classical symphonic depth, to the lightness of “Gone with the Wind” and “Tea for Two,” the adventurous harmonies of “Day Dream” and “Get out of Town” and the melancholy of “Moon and Sand.”
Recorded in a single live session, this intimate album was captured at 2F Recording Studio by Felice Tazzini, mixed and mastered by Simone Salvatore and released by Wow Records and EQ Music and Media. It’s designed for jazz lovers and those who appreciate the evocative charm of acoustic music.
